Movie Seen – Total Recall (2012)
A factory worker, Douglas Quaid, begins to suspect that he is a spy after visiting Rekall - a company that provides its clients with implanted fake memories of a life they would like to have led - goes wrong and he finds himself on the run.
As remakes go, this was damn fine. The sets, effects, fight sequences and chase scenes were marvellous. Colin did a fine job to replace Arnie, and I preferred Colin to be honest. The female talent was the usual mix of tough sex appeal.
Overall, go see it!

Movie Seen – Taken 2
In Istanbul, retired CIA operative Bryan Mills and his wife are taken hostage by the father of a kidnapper Mills killed while rescuing his daughter.
Yeah, more of the same. Liam Neeson killing people and looking suave.
Not bad, it doesn't muck about, some nice ideas but you just cannot beat the original. That was bloody marvellous. This is alright, I suppose... you know what you're getting... but please, don't do another one Liam... walk away.
Score: 6/10

Movie Seen – Resident Evil: Retribution
Alice fights alongside a resistance movement in the continuing battle against the Umbrella Corporation and the undead.
Oh dear. It started well (yes, I really liked the opening credits backwards filming), but after 20 minutes I just did not care if anyone lived or died.
I enjoyed the first few films of this franchise but this was just a step too far.
It had a bigger budget but all the money in the world wouldn't save this mess.

Movie Seen – Killer Joe
When a debt puts a young man's life in danger, he turns to putting a hit out on his evil mother in order to collect the insurance.
This was very disappointing. I was expecting more from William Friedkin, but alas it just failed to deliver the quality of his previous movies. There just wasn't much to it and it was too slow for its' own good. The violence, when it came, was shocking but hanging a movie on the much hyped Matthew McConaughey's performance was... well, incorrect.
